About

Drawing its name from the Japanese term for the sound of ‘chit chat’, PechaKucha rests on a presentation format that is based on a simple idea: 20 images x 20 seconds.

ABOUT PECHAKUCHA

PechaKucha was founded in Tokyo in February 2003 as an event for young designers to meet, network, and show their work in public. It has turned into a massive celebration, with events happening in more than 1,000 cities around the world. The strict format makes presentations concise and very visual, and keeps things moving at a rapid pace.

ABOUT PECHAKUCHA AMSTERDAM

Urban development and communications agency Golfstromen has been organizing PechaKucha Nights in Amsterdam since 2007. Four times a year we’re organizing regular editions which take place at inspiring venues across the city, such as Radion, Roest, and De School. Moreover, we host and curate special PechaKucha Nights on invitation for organizations like Stedelijk Museum, smart, Urbanears, and Spaces. In case you’re interested in working together, drop us an email.

CAN I PRESENT AT PECHAKUCHA?

To ensure a high quality of our events, we scout and invite 90% of the PechaKucha presenters ourselves. All year long we’re actively looking for great work, innovative ideas and talented people — online and offline. Of course, we’re always happy to receive applications! Feel free to contact us in case you’re interested in presenting at PechaKucha Amsterdam.
